Fill out Form DS-11 for new passports or DS-82 for renewals. Be sure to use black ink and print clearly. Double-check all information to avoid delays. Local libraries and community centers often have resources to help you complete these forms accurately.

Budget for application and execution fees. Bring a personal check, money order, or credit card. Fees vary depending on passport type and processing speed. Consider expedited services if you have upcoming travel plans, which are especially helpful for our community’s frequent travelers.

For Lakes of the North residents, the Antrim County Clerk’s office can assist with passport submissions. Bring all original documents, don’t sign the application until instructed, and be prepared to submit in person for first-time passports.

After submission, you can track your passport status online. Standard processing takes 6-8 weeks, but expedited services are available. Keep an eye on your mail, and make sure someone is available to receive the important delivery.
