Visa Policy

Bangladesh Visa Policy for Bangladeshi Citizens

The visa-free arrangement between Bangladesh and Bangladesh reflects a long-standing bilateral travel agreement. Bangladeshi passport holders benefit from one of the most favorable entry policies available — no advance application, no government fee, and no waiting period. This policy applies to tourism, family visits, and short-term business trips. Stays for employment, study, or residency require a separate permit obtained before travel. The visa-free allowance of 90 days is per visit, and immigration officers may ask you to demonstrate you have not exceeded cumulative stay limits during any 180-day period.

It is important to note that visa-free entry does not guarantee admission — Bangladesh immigration officers retain the right to deny entry to any traveler. Bangladeshi citizens should carry documentation of their travel purpose, accommodation details, and sufficient funds. Travelers with prior immigration violations, either in Bangladesh or other countries, may face additional scrutiny at the border.

Travel Context

Traveling to Bangladesh from Bangladesh — What to Know Before You Go

Planning a trip to Bangladesh from Bangladesh involves a few key logistics beyond the visa. Direct flights are available from major Bangladesh hubs to Bangladesh's main international airports, with flight times varying depending on your departure city. We recommend booking refundable tickets until your travel documents are confirmed — PassportsAndVisas.com's service fee is charged only after visa approval, so you are not committed financially before your visa is confirmed.

Passport preparation is the most important step. Your Bangladesh passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining beyond your departure date from Bangladesh, and at least 2 blank pages for entry stamps. If your passport is expiring soon, PassportsAndVisas.com can expedite Bangladesh passport renewal — often faster than standard government processing times.

As a visa-free traveler, your main pre-departure checklist includes: valid passport, travel insurance, accommodation confirmation, and proof of return travel. Bangladesh immigration officers appreciate organized travelers — having these documents accessible (not buried in luggage) can speed up your arrival process significantly.
