    One fully completed and signed visa application form.  The application must:

    • Be completed online
    • Include answers for all required fields
    • List the name of the traveler exactly as it is written in the passport
    • Be printed single-sided
    • Be dated and signed in blue or black ink

    Provide your SIGNED passport. Your passport must be signed on the appropriate line. (For US citizens the line is located on the page following your information page). The passport must be valid with an expiration date greater than six (6) months from the date of entry for the visa you are applying for. Passport must have sufficient blank pages (at least 2 pages) for any visa stamps. These pages must say VISAS at the top of the page.  

    If your passport does not meet the requirements, we can assist with renewing a US Passport or obtain a new US Passport from us prior to obtaining the visa.

    (Important Note:  Keep a copy of your passport biographical information page for your records)

    You must provide a passport photo. This passport photo must match the requirements of a standard US passport photo. They must be taken at an official passport photo provider (pharmacy, Costco, post office).  You can upload a digitial photo here for us to process.

    Photo Requirements:

    - Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view.

    - You must have a neutral facial expression or a natural smile, with both eyes open.

    - Taken in clothing normally worn on a daily basis

    - Taken in the last 6 months

    - Use a plain white or off-white background

    If visiting friends or family, you must provide a letter of invitation from the host in China. The letter must be signed and should be address to the "Consulate of China, Visa Section." The letter must contain the following information:
    • Personal information of the applicant: Name, gender, date of birth, and passport details
    • Details of the visit: Dates, purpose, places to visit, and places of accommodation
    • Details of the inviting party: Name, address, phone number, and relationship to the applicant

    You will also need to provide a copy the host's Chinese ID(both front and back sides), or, if they are not a citizen of China, copies of their China residence permit and their national passport's information pages.

    Also, if visiting family member who is working in China, a letter from the Chinese company (on company letterhead) confirming the worker's status in China and stating that he/she will be responsible for the family members' living arrangements and expenses.

    If applicant is visiting family members (spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons/daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, and parents-in-law), please provide the ORIGINAL and photocopy of certification of kinship showing relationship of family members between applicant and inviting individual. These can include marriage certificate, birth certificate, certification of kinship issued by the Public Security Bureau or notarized certification of kinship. This visa is for family reunions and classified as Q1.

    A copy the host's Chinese ID (not Chinese passport), both front and back sides, or, if host is not a citizen of China, copies of their Chinese residence permit and their national passport's information pages.

    A business letter of responsibility from your employer/sponsor in the United States.

    The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to "The Consulate of China", and signed by a senior manager. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:

    • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.).
    • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
    • Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel.
    • A closing signature by the manager (someone other than the applicant).

    If the applicant has previously obtained an China visa that is not on the same passport they must provide a copy of the previous visas as well as the information page of the passport in which the visa was issued.

    Copy of driver's license or state issued ID, or ORIGINAL major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage) for the most recent month, showing the applicant's name and current address. The address must not contain a PO Box. Address MUST match home address in your applicant profile.
