Same Day Passport Renewal Instructions

 

Complete and print the DS-82 application online

 

To prove your name change, you are required to provide official documentation certifying the change.  The two official documents are a Marriage Certificate or a Court Order.

• The name change document MUST bear the official seal of the issuing authority.
• Uncertified copies or notarized documents are UNACCEPTABLE.

 

Your passport must have been issued less than 15 years ago.

• If your passport was issued greater than 15 years ago, you must apply for a new passport, click here for instructions.

Your passport must have been issued when you were 16 or older.

• If your passport was issued when you were younger than 16, you must apply for a new passport, click here for instructions.

If your passport is still valid and was issued less than one year ago, you can amend the passport by following the passport name change instructions for passports issued less than one year ago.

If you expired passport is mutilated in any way, you cannot renew the passport.  You'll have to apply for a new passport.

 

You must provide two identical passport photos that meet Passport Agency Regulations. You can obtain passport photos at the following locations :

• Locate your nearest Mail Boxes, Etc.
• Locate your nearest Kinko's
• OR consult your local Yellow Pages under "Photographers - Passport"
• Vending Machine photos are NOT acceptable.

 

Print and fill out the Passport Processing Authorization Letter . 

 

You must provide a copy of ONE of the following :

• your foreign travel plane ticket

• your printed travel itinerary showing foreign travel

• If this is a business trip, you may present a business letter from your employer. Click here for more instructions and a sample letter.

 

You must electronically submit our secure ORDER FORM so we can prepare for your documents.

 

Government Fees

• Be prepared to make a check or Money Order for $135 payable to U.S. Department of State.
  • Be sure to include your date of birth on the check
  • Starter Checks and 3rd Party Checks will NOT be accepted.

Our Service Fees

• Our Service Fee is $ 189.00
• Our Return Mail Fee is $ 25.00 for FedEx Service OR you may include a pre-paid airbill to the return address.

  The Total Fee is $ 214.00 ($ 189.00 if you INCLUDED a pre-paid airbill). You may pay by Check or Credit Card.

  • If you are paying by check, enclose a check made payable to "Passports and Visas.com".
  • If you are paying by credit card, please make sure you entered your credit card information on the above mentioned order form.

1. Place the following documents in a FedEx Priority Letter.

   • Application Form (DS-82)

   • Name Change Documentation

   • Passport

   • 2 Passport Photos

   • Authorization Letter

   • Proof of Depature

   • Check or Money Order for $135 to US Department of State

   • Payment to Passports and Visas.com for $189 service fee

   • Return Airbill or $25 payment to Passports and Visas.com

2. Call us at 1-800-860-8610 and indicate you are processing a "Same Day" Passport. We will instruct you on where to send your FedEx Priority Letter. Our office hours are 8am to 8pm EST Monday through Friday.

   • Please have your documents when calling so we can review them with you prior to shipping.

   • Please DO NOT send the Emergency Package to our office in Atlanta, unless instructed to! Call us to determine where to send the package.

3. On the FedEx Airbill, put your Order Number in Box 2.

You are sending this package to a FedEx facility for our service to receive the package to submit to the US Passport Agency by 10am.  This ensures the fastest possible service; however, the Fedex facility will deny packages sent via other overnight services (UPS, Airborne, Express Mail, etc) - therefore it is imperative you send using Fedex.
